Michael A. Anidjar, Esq., CPA, LL.M.
Founding Attorney — AnidjarLaw, P.A.About Michael A. Anidjar
Michael A. Anidjar is the Founding Attorney of AnidjarLaw and one of a small number of South Florida attorneys who holds both a law license and a CPA credential, combined with an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center. His practice focuses on estate and succession planning, probate and trust administration, tax planning, asset protection, tax controversy, and business succession — matters where legal, tax, and accounting issues routinely overlap and where that combined background makes a practical difference for clients.
Michael’s clients often come to him during legally complex and personally difficult moments. A probate matter may follow the loss of a loved one. A trust or estate dispute may involve family conflict, fiduciary concerns, or questions about inherited assets. A tax controversy may involve an IRS audit, examination, notice, lien, levy, or collection action. A business succession matter may raise questions about ownership, valuation, tax exposure, and family dynamics simultaneously. In each situation, Michael believes that clear communication is essential. He works to explain the legal issues, available options, procedural steps, and practical consequences so that clients can make informed decisions and move forward with confidence.
As both an attorney and a Certified Public Accountant — a credential he has held since 2008 — Michael brings a combined legal, tax, and accounting perspective that is especially valuable where legal rights, tax consequences, fiduciary duties, asset valuation, accounting records, and family or business interests intersect. His LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown is an advanced law degree focused exclusively on federal and state tax law, earned after completing law school. That background allows him to analyze both the legal structure and the tax consequences of a plan or transaction — an approach that is particularly relevant in estate planning, business succession, estate freezes, and planning around significant asset transfers or appreciated property.
In his tax controversy practice, Michael represents individual and business taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and state taxing authorities. He assists clients with audits, examinations, tax debt, collection notices, liens, levies, installment agreements, offers in compromise, penalty abatement, and related tax resolution matters. Tax problems can be stressful, technical, and disruptive. Michael helps clients understand the process, evaluate realistic options, and implement a strategy designed to resolve the matter as effectively as possible.
Michael advises clients on tax planning strategies designed to reduce income, estate, and gift tax exposure across generations. This includes planning around business sales and transitions, estate freezes, charitable giving strategies, and structuring for clients with significant appreciated assets or closely held business interests. He also counsels individuals and business owners on asset protection planning — structuring ownership of real estate, business interests, and financial assets to reduce exposure to creditors and future claims, within the bounds of Florida and federal law. For South Florida clients with professional liability exposure or significant real estate holdings, asset protection is often an integral part of a broader estate and succession plan.
Michael also assists clients with tax-sensitive probate and trust matters, including estate and trust administration, fiduciary income tax issues, inherited retirement accounts, beneficiary disputes, closely held business interests, real estate held in estates or trusts, and planning for the transfer and preservation of family wealth. His goal is to provide practical, informed counsel in matters where legal, tax, accounting, and fiduciary issues intersect.
Michael earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, together with a Certificate in Estate Planning. He received his Juris Doctor (J.D.), cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law. He also holds a Master of Science (M.S.) in Accounting from the University of Central Florida and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Accounting from the University of Florida.
Michael is admitted to practice law in Florida and the District of Columbia, where he has been licensed since 2012. He is also admitted before the United States Tax Court and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Michael is a member of The Florida Bar, including its Tax Section and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, including its Tax Section and Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section, the Broward County Bar Association, and the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants.
Michael has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Stars honoree for multiple consecutive years. Super Lawyers Rising Stars recognizes no more than 2.5% of attorneys in each state. He is proficient in Hebrew and Spanish, allowing him to serve many of South Florida’s diverse families and business owners with greater clarity and cultural understanding.
In addition to his legal practice, Michael is active in the South Florida community. He has served on the Board of Jewish Family Home Care since 2018 and has served as Board Chair since June 2024. Jewish Family Home Care is a not-for-profit organization that provides non-medical home care and personal care services to seniors and vulnerable individuals throughout Broward County, helping clients remain safely and with dignity in their homes.
Born and raised in Hollywood, Florida, Michael brings a local and community-based perspective to his South Florida practice. He serves clients throughout Broward County, Miami-Dade County, Palm Beach County, and the broader South Florida community.
